The elementary band solo recital (optional for all members) will take place this Thursday, March 26th between 4:30 and 8 PM at Munhall School. Students should have received a CD and a sheet with their solo time. To find your student’s solo performance time, please see the list in the “For Bandos Only” section.
Band students will be having their first band lesson of the school year going into September. Friday students will begin September 5th, Monday-Thursday students will begin September 8th-11th. If you do not have your instrument already, you will receive it at your first lesson. I look forward to seeing all the students for their first lesson!
Morning rehearsals for the Munhall and Norton Creek Band will begin on October 2nd at Munhall. Students should be unpacked and ready to play at 7:30 AM. Morning band is required of all Munhall and Norton Creek band students. I look forward to seeing you all there!
Morning band rehearsals will begin on September 30th at Wild Rose School for all band students that play in the Davis and Wild Rose Band. The rehearsal begins promptly at 7:30 AM in the Community Room. The address for Wild Rose School is 36W 730 Red Haw Lane. I look forward to seeing you all there!
Students are hard at work learning their own solo for our second annual Solo Recital. Students received their times and information sheet at the beginning of March. The solo recital will take place Tuesday, March 18th from 5-8 PM at Munhall School. For more information, please see the material inside the “For Bandos Only” section.
The Holiday Band (optional for all band students) will begin the week of October 29th. Students will practice durign lunch recess through the end of November on their assigned day (Norton Creek on Mondays, Wild Rose on Tuesdays, Munhall on Fridays). Students must turn in a permission slip to participate in the group. Additional copies of the permission slip are available on this website under the “For Bandos Only” page. I hope to see many of the band students participate!
At the end of August, students should have received a copy of the Elementary Band Handbook, complete with information about morning band, grading, and concert dates. The last page of this handbook is a “Parent and Student Acknowledgement”, which confirms that students and their families have received all of this important information. Students (and parents) should complete this form and turn it in to Mr. Blomquist no later than Monday, September 24th.
